Code of Conduct

Introduction

It is vital to the success of your treatment that you are able to trust me and so I want to make absolutely sure that you know you can.

I am well aware it may seem daunting for some that I am a sole practitioner male therapist working from my home so it is important for me to do everything I can to reassure you as a client (potential or actual) that you are safe here. To demonstrate that I will always protect your dignity, respect your boundaries and conduct myself in an ethical manner.

To that end I have chosen to hold myself to the standards set by not one but two professional bodies...

The Complementary Therapists Association (CTHA)

The CTHA are the leading professional association representing sports, spa and complementary therapists in the UK and Ireland. I have chosen to become a member of the association in order that they provide me with practitioner's insurance.

Therefore of course I am required to abide by their extensive code of practice and am subject to their disciplinary procedures.

The Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)

CNHC was set up with government support in 2008 to provide a UK voluntary register of healthcare practitioners with the key purpose of protecting the public.

They hold a UK register of complementary healthcare practitioners who have met UK standards. The register is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care, a body accountable to Parliament.

CNHC registrants work in private practice, the NHS and a wide range of other health and care settings.

Whereas the CTHA insure me as a practioner provided I adhere to their code of practice the CNHC exists specifically to protect you as a client. They do not represent me in any way or provide me with services of any kind.

I have chosen to register with them (which is entirely voluntary and not a legal requirement) and to abide by their extensive code of conduct, ethics and performance with the sole purpose of reassuring my clients that I will always conduct myself impeccably in my dealings with them.
