Upcoming Price Increases

I’m sorry to have to announce that effective Tue 14th Nov 2023 I’m finally going to have to cave in and raise my prices for the first time since Heybridge Holistics was born in summer 2018.

As you’re all well aware the cost of almost everything in life has sky-rocketed in recent times, not least of all the cost of heating and lighting this room, laundering the various linens used during your treatments and purchasing oils and other sundries as well as professional association memberships, insurances, web-hosting and other administrative fees.

You’ll find the new prices listed below along with a couple of new treatment durations (75 and 105 minutes) to allow those of you who currently have 90 or 120 minute treatments the option of keeping the price where it is and having a slightly shorter treatment rather than beginning to pay more.

The level of discount offered against block purchases will be slightly less than it is currently too but I think still represents excellent value for money at £15 off blocks of three or £50 off blocks of nine treatments, not to mention every tenth treatment will remain free under the loyalty scheme, presenting a further saving.

Again, my sincere apologies for having to finally raise the prices. It’s been a long time coming (over 5 years) and I’ve held off as long as I can, I’d like to think you all know I do this job predominantly because I want to help people and I’ve resisted these changes for probably longer than I should’ve.

Block Treatments

Issued as gift vouchers in advance and bookable whenever you want, save £15 off any block of three treatments or £50 off nine. I’ve opted for blocks of nine rather than ten so as to neatly complete a loyalty stamp card as every tenth treatment is free with your completed card anyway.

Covid Restrictions Eased

As of today all close contact services in England can resume, this of course includes all massage rather than just that which provides a "demonstrable healthcare benefit to the client" as was required during the most recent lockdown.

To that end I am now able to resume offering massage to all clients. I introduced a number of changes to the booking and consultation processes as well as to the massage itself last summer and those remain in place, full details can be found on the COVID-19 page.

I know I've missed my own massage treatments during the last few months and I'm sure many of you have too. I look forward to seeing some familiar faces as well as hopefully some new ones in the near future.

New Lockdown Covid Update

January 7th, 2021

On 4 January 2021 the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, announced that England would go into a national lockdown with effect from midnight that night. The Government published relevant guidance on the lockdown requirements. Under the section ‘Businesses and venues which can remain open’ it states: “The full list of these businesses can be found in the guidance on closing certain businesses and venues in England.”

The businesses that can remain open include “dental services, opticians, audiology services, chiropody, chiropractors, osteopaths and other medical or health services, including services relating to mental health.” Under legal advice obtained during the November 2020 national lockdown in England, CNHC Registrants in England meet the definition of “other…health services, including services relating to mental health” contained in Section 17(o), Schedule 3A of The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (All Tiers) (England) Regulations 2020. The amended legislation on which Parliament voted on 6 January 2021 made no changes to that section of the Regulations.

This means, as a CNHC Registrant, I can continue to practise in England during the current restrictions provided I meet the criteria set out below.

In order to stay within the remit of providing “other…health services, including services relating to mental health”:

• I must only provide the therapies I am registered for, on a one-to-one basis to you the client, for an identified mental or physical health condition or injury that is causing you pain or having an adverse impact on your mobility or your quality of life.
• I must be able to evidence that my therapeutic intervention is supporting you with your condition. I can do this by recording your health condition and giving a clear rationale in your care record for the treatment that I am providing.
• I cannot provide treatment to you in your own home unless I have received a direct referral from a statutory regulated health professional.
• Since my practice is based in my own home I can continue to work from here as long as it is COVID-secure. It is, I am adhering strictly to CNHC's advice on following the government guidance on working safely.

I cannot stress enough the severity of the situation we are now in, with a surge in infection rates of the highly transmissible new variant of COVID-19 placing increasing pressure on the NHS. I must exercise the utmost caution and exercise my professional judgement in assessing the risks. I must carry out and record a risk assessment on whether the benefit of my providing you with treatment outweighs the risk involved. I reserve the right to refuse treatment to any client for my own safety and yours and I urge you to give serious consideration to whether your need for treatment at the present time warrants the risk to your health inherent in receiving it.

Heybridge Holistics is not closed for Covid-19 after all!!!

I have received a couple of updates from my registrar (CNHC) who tell me that they have sought legal advice and their registrants in England meet the definition of “other…health services, including services relating to mental health” contained in Section 47, Part 3 of the Schedule to The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) (No. 4) Regulations 2020 and can therefore continue to practise.

This legal advice has taken into account that in Section 25E of the Health and Social Care Act 2012 practitioners on Accredited Registers are defined as engaged in work that includes the provision of healthcare.

Essentially this means I can continue to practice despite the lockdown, I won't be able to treat you in your own home unless I have received a direct referral from a statutory regulated health professional however I can continue to practice from my own home as usual as it is COVID secure.

Those of you who've had appointments cancelled due to the lockdown I'll be in touch with directly to reschedule, otherwise if you'd like to come in please just go ahead and get in touch and we'll get something arranged.

Closing for Covid-19 again.

I'm really sorry to have to announce that Heybridge Holistics will be closing again from Thursday 4th November until at least 2nd December because of newly tightened restrictions relating to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

The CNHC (my registrar) have instructed all members to cease hands on therapies in line with the new rules...

If you already had an appointment booked I'll be in touch directly to re-schedule, if you didn't and you want one then please go ahead and get in touch and I'll try to squeeze you in before Thursday.

Test and Trace.

September 23rd, 2020

Just a quick entry to let you all know that test and trace will be automated here at Heybridge Holistics starting tomorrow should you wish to use it.

Simply scan the QR code on the therapy room wall either before or after your treatment to ensure you are contacted should the Test and Trace service determine you need to test/isolate.

Of course I have all of your contact details on your initial client consultation forms anyway and will be sure to contact you directly if Test and Trace tell me I need to.

Having worked out similar arrangements for a couple of clients over the last few weeks it occurred to me that perhaps I should offer something official, so treatments are now available to purchase in blocks as follows:

• 3 * 90 minute treatments - £145 (£165 if purchased individually)

I've made sure to keep the discounted prices higher than the special rate I give the handful of lucky regulars already entitled to a discount for taking part in case studies etc however, as a further token of my gratitude to those of you who took part when I needed you to, please take a further £20 off the prices above.

You'll notice I've also opted for blocks of 9 rather than ten. This is simply because, as my regulars will tell you, every tenth treatment is free under my loyalty reward scheme anyway!
